The ring turned out great. I really love it! It was very hard to photograph because if it is possible it is even brighter than before. All the color in my photos was super saturated spots so I had to take the pictures in partial shade to get them to turn out.
The only problem is I ordered the ring one size too big and it came slightly over the size I ordered. As a result I'm wearing it with a ring snuggie. I knew at the time I ordered it I should go to a jewelry store and try on sizes but decided to wing it. Big mistake.
In terms of cost the opal was $100 from the Denver gem and mineral show.
The ring was $127 with sizing from ebay (sent from China). My mistake that I told them the wrong size.
Setting was $40 at the local jeweler.
Total = $267
This is quite a bit more than I would have spent on a ring in person but the Welo opal rings at the gem show were $500 and up for much smaller opals that weren't as pretty so I am happy with the result.
The gemologist at the jewelry store confirmed it was a real opal Yea!
